Frank & Jesse is a 1994 American Western film directed by Robert Boris and starring Rob Lowe, Bill Paxton, and Randy Travis. The movie follows the lives of Frank and Jesse James after the end of the Civil War as they struggle to find their place in a society that doesn't recognize their past as Confederate guerrillas.
As the James brothers try to settle down and lead normal lives, they are still haunted by their memories as soldiers and the injustices they faced during the war. They soon find themselves targeted by Chicago railroad investors who are taking over local businesses and towns, and they feel compelled to take action to fight back against this oppressive force.
Frank and Jesse recruit their old comrades and begin robbing banks, trains, and coaches to fund their resistance. This leads to a bloody showdown with Pinkerton detectives, who are determined to bring the outlaws to justice.
The film is notable for its sympathetic portrayal of the James brothers and their motivations for turning to a life of crime. It also features standout performances from Lowe and Paxton, as well as a memorable supporting performance from Travis as the outlaw Cole Younger.
