Fracture is a legal drama and thriller film released in 2007, directed by Gregory Hoblit and starring Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling. The story follows Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins), an accomplished engineer who finds out that his wife, Jennifer (Embeth Davidtz), is having an affair with a young detective named Rob Nunally (Billy Burke). Ted shoots Jennifer in a fit of rage and later confesses to the crime when the police arrive.
As the trial begins, the case seems to be straightforward with a clear motive and a strong confession from the defendant. However, the young deputy district attorney Willy Beachum (Ryan Gosling) discovers that things are not as they seem.
