Fourth Down and Love follows the story of single mother, Emily, and retired pro football player, Jake. Emily has struggled to make ends meet while raising her daughter, Lily, on her own. Lily’s passion for flag football leads Emily to become a coach for her team, and it is here that she coincidentally meets Jake.
Jake, who had a promising career as a football player, was forced to retire due to a devastating injury. He is struggling to adjust to his new life off the field and feels lost without the game that defined him. As fate would have it, he decides to volunteer as a coach for the same flag football team that Emily and Lily are a part of.
As Emily and Jake work together to lead the team, they begin to form a connection. But the road to love is full of unexpected obstacles. Emily is hesitant to trust another man after being hurt in the past, and Jake is struggling to come to terms with the end of his football career.
