The down-on-his-luck publicist, Jack, is struggling to make ends meet and keep his PR business afloat. One day, he stumbles upon a mental health facility and meets a patient named Tommy who bears a striking resemblance to an A-list movie star named Jason Stone. Jack soon realizes that he can use Tommy's resemblance to his advantage and decides to make him the next big thing in Hollywood.
Jack convinces a struggling film producer to cast Tommy in a leading role in his upcoming movie, which turns out to be a huge success.
