Fool's Gold is a 2008 romantic adventure comedy film directed by Andy Tennant and starring Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson, and Donald Sutherland. The film follows the story of Ben 'Finn' Finnegan, a treasure hunter who has spent years searching for the legendary Queen's Dowry, a collection of 40 chests of priceless treasure that sank to the bottom of the ocean during a hurricane in the 18th century. Finn is convinced that he is close to finding the treasure but needs a specific clue, and so he lands himself in debt to a gangster and agrees to work for his ex-wife's wealthy boss to get the last piece of the puzzle.

The film received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the chemistry between McConaughey and Hudson and the adventure scenes but criticizing the predictable plot and lack of originality. However, it was a commercial success, grossing over $111 million worldwide.
