The Heist Game of Fate

Action  Canada

Foolproof is a Canadian crime thriller movie directed by William Phillips and released in 2003. Ryan Reynolds plays the lead role of Kevin, a computer genius, who along with his friends Sam (Kristin Booth) and Rob (Joris Jarsky), enjoys the intellectual challenge of mapping out perfect heists.

Their latest heist plan involves stealing a set of valuable rare coins, but they soon discover that someone has stolen their blueprint. To make matters worse, a mysterious man known as "Leo" (played by David Suchet) approaches them, revealing that he has access to their incriminating emails, which could land them in jail.

Leo tells the trio that he wants them to plan and execute a multimillion-dollar heist on behalf of a client. If they refuse, he will use their emails as evidence and put them in prison. Kevin, Sam, and Rob reluctantly agree, but as they delve deeper into the heist, it becomes clear that not everything is as it seems, and the stakes grow higher.

The trio employ their elaborate schemes and high-tech gadgets to plan the heist, but things quickly spiral out of control. Kevin and his friends discover that they are playing a dangerous game, where the consequences of failure could be deadly. As the clock ticks, they race against time to complete the heist and take down Leo, who is calling the shots.

Foolproof received mixed reviews from critics but was praised for its witty dialogue and intricate heist sequences. The movie has since gained a cult following and is regarded as one of Ryan Reynolds' early breakthrough roles.
