The movie Follow Your Heart tells the story of Kathy Yoder, a successful travel writer who has left her Amish community behind in pursuit of her dreams. However, when she returns home to her small Amish town to settle her father's affairs, she is reminded of the simplicity and peacefulness of her former lifestyle.
Kathy finds herself torn between her old life and the new life she has built for herself outside of the Amish community. She reconnects with her childhood friend, Isaac, who is now a widower and raising his two children on his own. Kathy is drawn to the familiarity and stability of Isaac's lifestyle, but also feels pressure from her editor at the travel magazine to continue pursuing her career.
As Kathy spends more time in her hometown, she begins to question whether her current life is truly fulfilling and meaningful. She is also faced with the difficult decision of whether to stay in her hometown and potentially rekindle her relationship with Isaac or to return to her fast-paced career in the city.
Through the course of the movie, Kathy learns to listen to her heart and make the decision that is best for her, regardless of societal expectations and pressures. The movie ultimately encourages viewers to follow their own hearts and pursue a life that is fulfilling and true to their individual values and passions.
