Comedy,Music,Romance  United States of America

Follow the Fleet is a 1936 musical romantic comedy directed by Mark Sandrich and starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The film follows the story of sailors Bake Baker and Bilge Smith as they reunite with their former dancing partners, Sherry Martin and Connie Martin, respectively, when their fleet arrives in San Francisco.

Bake Baker, played by Astaire, is a charming sailor with a passion for dancing. He reunites with his former dance partner Sherry Martin, played by Rogers, and tries to reignite the spark between them. However, their relationship is complicated by Bake's reckless behavior, which causes Sherry to lose her job at a nightclub.

Meanwhile, Bilge Smith, played by Randolph Scott, falls in love with Connie Martin, played by Harriet Hilliard. Connie dreams of settling down and starting a family, but Bilge is not ready to commit. As the sailors navigate their romantic relationships and their duties in the Navy, they must also prepare for a big dance competition.

Follow the Fleet is known for its memorable musical numbers, including "I'm Putting All My Eggs in One Basket" and "Let's Face the Music and Dance," both performed by Astaire and Rogers. The film was a commercial and critical success and is widely considered one of the best musicals of the 1930s.
