Follow That Dream is a 1962 musical comedy film directed by Gordon Douglas and starring Elvis Presley. The story follows the Kwimper family as they set up their own little community on a strip of roadside in Florida after their car runs out of gas.
Pop Kwimper, played by Arthur O'Connell, is a free-spirited widower who is determined to make a home for his family. He is accompanied by his teenage son, Toby, played by Elvis Presley, and their "adopted" children, Holly, Ariadne, and the twins.
As they begin to settle in, they are met with resistance from the local authorities who want to run them off the land. Pop Kwimper, however, stands his ground, and with the help of his family and some quirky locals, turns the strip of roadside into a thriving community.
Along the way, Toby falls in love with a beautiful social worker, Alicia Claypoole, played by Joanna Moore, who is initially opposed to their way of life, but eventually comes to understand and appreciate their outlook on life.
With its memorable songs and lighthearted humor, Follow That Dream is a charming and uplifting film that celebrates the spirit of independence and the importance of family.
