Roddy St. James is a pampered and privileged mouse who lives a lavish life in his owner's Kensington flat. He spends his days lounging in his personalized cage, snacking on gourmet cheeses and watching TV. His life takes a drastic turn when he is sucked into the toilet and ends up in the sewer below.
In the sewer, Roddy meets Rita, a street-smart and adventurous rat who agrees to help him find his way back home. Along the way, they encounter a host of other colorful characters, including Sid the sewer rat, who mistakenly believes that Roddy is a sewer-cleaning hero who has come to save the day.
As they navigate the treacherous waters of Ratropolis, Roddy and Rita must dodge danger at every turn, including the wrath of the Toad, a gangster-like amphibian who intends to flood the city and eliminate all rats. With the help of their new friends, including Spike and Whitey, two of the Toad's hired thugs who end up switching sides, Roddy and Rita must outmaneuver the Toad and his henchmen to save their home and their lives.
