Flower & Snake is a Japanese erotic drama film based on the novel by Oniroku Dan. The wealthy president of a company named Shizuko (played by Aya Sugimoto) has a mounting debt to local yakuza boss, Dominique Sagara (played by Renji Ishibashi). To save himself from punishment, he sells his wife to Sagara for a night. However, things take an unexpected turn when Sagara becomes obsessed with Shizuko's beauty and decides to keep her as his own.
Shizuko is taken to an underground BDSM club where she is kept as a sex slave and forced to perform for Sagara and his clients. The once fiercely independent woman now finds herself in a spiraling descent into submission and degradation. She is subjected to a myriad of twisted sexual acts and is constantly humiliated and abused by Sagara.
As her ordeal continues, Shizuko finds herself developing feelings for her captor which only complicates things further. Things come to a head when her husband, attempting to save her, attempts to pay off Sagara's debts but is ultimately killed. In the end, Shizuko is left with no choice but to come to terms with her new identity as a submissive sex slave.
The film is known for its graphic depiction of BDSM and was controversial upon its release in Japan. It has since gained a cult following and has inspired several remakes and adaptations.
