The four gangsters, Torkild, Peter, Arne, and Stefan, are tired of their criminal lifestyle and dream of starting a new life in Spain. However, when their boss, the ruthless "The Eskimo," entrusts them with 4 million kroner to bring back from a drug deal in Germany, they see it as an opportunity to fulfill their dream and steal the money.
As they embark on their journey to Spain, they are pursued by The Eskimo and his henchmen. When their car breaks down in a remote countryside area, they stumble upon an abandoned house and decide to take shelter there.
As they stay longer in the house, they begin to discover a sense of belonging and community, forming meaningful relationships with the local bartender, a young woman named Liva, and a former sailor named Ludvig. Each of the gangsters finds a new purpose in life, whether it's taking care of wounded birds, painting, or fixing up the house.
However, their peaceful life soon comes to an end when The Eskimo and his men track them down. In a dramatic showdown, the gangsters defend their newfound home and identity with all they have.
