Fletch Lives is a 1989 American comedy-mystery film directed by Michael Ritchie and starring Chevy Chase. The film is a sequel to the 1985 film Fletch, and is based on the series of novels by Gregory Mcdonald.

The film follows investigative journalist Irwin M. "Fletch" Fletcher as he inherits a rundown Louisiana mansion from his aunt. Fletch travels to Louisiana to check out the property and finds himself in the middle of a murder case after a beautiful woman he was flirting with turns up dead. Fletch becomes the prime suspect in the case, and he must investigate the murder and clear his name.

As Fletch conducts his investigation, he encounters a number of eccentric characters, including a corrupt senator, a voodoo priestess, and a group of gun-toting rednecks. Along the way, he uses his quick wit and charm to get out of sticky situations and uncover the truth about the murder.

In addition to Chase, the film features a talented cast of actors, including Hal Holbrook, Julianne Phillips, R. Lee Ermey, and Cleavon Little. The film received mixed reviews upon its release, with many critics praising Chase's performance but criticizing the film's plot and pacing.

Despite its mixed reception, Fletch Lives has become a cult classic over the years, thanks in part to Chase's comedic timing and the film's charming setting in small-town Louisiana. Fans of the original Fletch film will likely enjoy this sequel, which delivers more of the same humor and witty dialogue that made the first film a hit.
