Flaky is a drama film that follows the story of Ibinabo, a Nigerian woman who immigrated to New York City to help support her family back home. She works at a seafood restaurant, trying to make ends meet, but is confronted with various challenges that threaten to break her spirit.
Ibinabo is a resilient woman, but she faces loss and betrayal as she struggles to navigate life in America. Her coworkers are unsupportive, and the restaurant manager is implementing unethical practices that put their jobs at risk. Her family back in Nigeria relies on her for financial support, and she is constantly sending money home, leaving her with little to live on.
The movie portrays the difficulties that many immigrants face when trying to build a life in a new country. Ibinabo's situation is further complicated when she falls in love with a man who turns out to be married. She is heartbroken and feels deceived, but she chooses to forgive him and move on.
