Stella and Will meet in the hospital and quickly bond over their shared experiences with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that causes lung infections and other complications. Despite their connection, they are required to stay at least six feet apart from each other to lower the risk of cross-infection. However, as their feelings grow stronger, they both begin to question whether they can truly live life to the fullest while also following the rules. Their journey is filled with ups and downs, difficult decisions, and a realization that sometimes, the most important thing in life is love. Along with Stella and Will, the movie also showcases the lives of other CF patients, their routines, and the challenges they face every day.
