Mitchell Gant, played by Clint Eastwood, is a former US Air Force pilot who flew top-secret missions during the Vietnam War. He is recruited by British Intelligence to steal the Firefox, a highly advanced Soviet fighter jet that is equipped with a thought-controlled weapon system and a stealth technology that renders it undetectable by radar.
Gant undergoes extensive training to learn how to fly the Firefox and operate its advanced weaponry system. He also learns Russian, so that he can blend in with the locals once he is inside Soviet territory.
Once in Soviet airspace, Gant faces numerous challenges as he tries to evade the Soviet military and locate the secret airbase where the Firefox is located. He teams up with a local resistance fighter, who helps him navigate the dangerous terrain and evade the Soviet patrols.
As Gant gets closer to his objective, he realizes that the stakes are higher than he ever imagined. The Soviets are planning to use the Firefox as a first-strike weapon, and Gant may be the only one who can prevent a global catastrophe.
