The movie follows the story of Duncan Rosenblatt, a teenage boy struggling with his dual identities as a human and a monster. He attends high school, but his father Belloc, a powerful Kaiju, wants him to embrace his monster heritage and take his place as the King of All Monsters.

Things become complicated when a group of rogue Kaiju attack their city, threatening the safety of Duncan's family and friends. Duncan must then use his abilities to protect those he loves and confront his destiny as a Kaiju.

The movie received positive reviews for its animation style and action sequences. It was also praised for its themes of identity and family. Firebreather has since become a cult favorite among fans of animated films and comic book adaptations.
