Elise MacKenzie is a high-powered marketing executive from New York City who has always been too busy for the Christmas season. However, when her boss hands her the task of selling Christmas trees at her family's tree lot in rural Washington, she reluctantly agrees to go home for the holidays.
When she arrives, she is reunited with her family and old friends, and begins to rediscover the joy of Christmas. However, her happiness is short-lived when she discovers that the store owner who hosts the tree lot on his property wants to shut it down, as he believes it is bad for business.
