Finding Srimulat is a heartwarming comedy-drama that follows the story of a struggling event planner named Ibas, who is facing a financial crisis with a baby on the way. In an attempt to save his business, he sets out on a mission to reunite an iconic comedy troupe, called Srimulat, for one last performance.
Srimulat was once the most popular comedy ensemble in Indonesia, but they disbanded years ago due to personal conflicts. Ibas grew up idolizing them, and believes that their reunion can not only save his business, but also revive Indonesia's fading comedy scene.
As he embarks on his mission, Ibas meets and gathers the former members of Srimulat one by one, convincing them to put their differences aside and join forces again. He also faces many challenges along the way, such as finances, logistics, and personal egos.
The story culminates in a hilarious and heartwarming performance by Srimulat, which proves to be one of the best shows of their career. The movie ends with Ibas realizing that he has achieved his dream, and that he has not only saved his business, but also helped reunite some of the greatest comedians of Indonesia.
Directed by Ifa Isfansyah, Finding Srimulat stars some of the most renowned comedians of Indonesia, including Tora Sudiro, Aming, Joe P Project, and Butet Kertaradjasa.
