Devina and Rick have been trying to have a baby for a long time and have gone through multiple miscarriages. Despite the difficulties, they remain hopeful. When Devina finds out she's pregnant again, they are ecstatic. However, Devina's mother, Ani, is very traditional and opposes their relationship. Ani has always considered Rick to be untrustworthy, and she doesn't see him as a good match for her daughter.
Devina's happiness is short-lived when she collapses in the middle of her pregnancy and is taken to the hospital. The doctors discover that she has a rare blood disorder, and they are uncertain if she will survive. Devina is determined to carry the baby to term, so she can meet her little miracle.
Meanwhile, Ani is beside herself with worry and guilt as her daughter lies in the hospital. She begins to see Rick in a different light and realizes how much he loves Devina. She feels guilty for her past behavior towards him and decides to offer an olive branch.
Devina's condition deteriorates, and she is put on bed rest. Rick and Ani work together to take care of Devina, and Rick shows what a great caregiver he is. The three of them are brought closer because of this experience.
