Field Study follows Detective Harry Hewitt, played by Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon, who is plagued by the unsolved case of his own son's abduction. He relocates to a small town in NW Montana with his wife, hoping for a fresh start. However, the town has a dark history of missing children, and soon strange occurrences start happening around Harry.
As he investigates the disappearance of a young girl, Harry's own traumatic memories and paranormal experiences start to merge, leaving him vulnerable and uncertain of what is real.
