Ferdinand, the bull, is raised on a farm in Spain and lives a simple life with his kind-hearted owners and his friends, a goat named Lupe and three hedgehogs. Despite his size and strength, Ferdinand is a gentle soul who enjoys smelling flowers and watching the world go by.
When Ferdinand accidentally gets stung by a bee and goes on a rampage in the village, he is mistaken for a ferocious bull and is sent to the bullfighting arena in Madrid. There, he meets other bulls who are obsessed with proving their worth in the ring and winning the admiration of the crowd.
But unlike the other bulls, Ferdinand is not interested in fighting or showing off. He befriends a young girl named Nina, who is a sweet and caring trainer, and together they try to find a way for Ferdinand to escape and return to his farm.
Through his journey, Ferdinand learns that it is okay to be himself and that he does not have to conform to society's expectations of what a bull should be. With his unique qualities and peaceful nature, Ferdinand ultimately becomes a hero in his own right.
The movie is a heartwarming tale of friendship, acceptance, and staying true to oneself.
