The movie Ferat Vampire, also known as Upír z Feratu in its original Czech title, is a horror film released in 1981. It was directed by Juraj Herz, and starred Jirí Menzel, Dagmar Veškrnová-Havlová, and Jana Brejchová.
The story is set in a small Czech town, where a respected doctor named Marek is shocked when his colleague Mima leaves their hospital to become a rally-driver for the foreign car manufacturer Ferat. Mima's success in the dangerous races raises suspicions among her former colleagues, especially when they notice her unusual behavior and physical changes.
One night, Marek witnesses a disturbing scene at a gas station, where a young girl is drained of her blood by a mysterious device attached to Mima's car. He becomes convinced that Ferat is using human blood as fuel for their cars, and that Mima has become a vampire as a result.
Marek tries to warn the authorities and the public, but nobody believes him. He joins forces with a young scientist named Radslav, who has also discovered the truth about Ferat's sinister operations. Together, they plan to expose the company and save Mima from her vampire fate.
The movie features some iconic scenes, including the eerie sight of Mima's glowing red eyes as she drives her Ferat car at high speed, and the shocking revelation of how the blood-fueled engine works. It also has a dark commentary on the dangers of corporate greed and the ruthlessness of the modern world.
