Feeling Minnesota is a dark comedy-drama which was released in 1996. Directed by Steven Baigelman, it features a star-studded cast including Vincent D'Onofrio, Cameron Diaz, Keanu Reeves and Delroy Lindo. The film is set in the rural town of Little Rock, Minnesota, where Sam Clayton (D'Onofrio) lives a low-key life as a farmer with his distant wife, Freddie (Diaz). Upon the death of his father, Sam is forced to return to his hometown, where he's introduced to Red (Lindo), who owns a bar and gambling club in the area. After Sam and Red meet, Red points out that Freddie owes him a favor, and Red requires her to marry Sam. Freddie is unhappy but feels like she has no choice and becomes Sam's wife.

The plot takes a twist as Freddie is drawn to Sam's brother, Jiaks (Reeves), who recently got out of prison. Despite disapproving glances and hostility from Sam and Red, Freddie and Jiaks fall in love and run away together, with the hope of making it to California. However, Sam and Red end up finding them, forcing both Freddie and Jiaks to face the consequences of their actions. A tense showdown follows, leading to a deadly struggle between Sam and Red, which results in a disarming truce and surprising revelations about Freddie that bring the story to a triumphant conclusion.

The tone of the film is dark, and the action-packed finale serves as an explosion of pent-up emotions that have been brewing below the surface throughout the movie. The film received mixed reviews, but the performances by the main cast were praised. Feeling Minnesota has since become a cult classic, due to its unique storyline and brilliant acting.
