After witnessing her husband's tragic death in a car accident, Sarah (played by Daisy Ridley) is struggling to cope with her loss. One day, she receives a surprise visit from her former medical school colleague, Jack (played by Benedict Cumberbatch), who has somehow turned invisible after a failed experiment. Sarah takes pity on her old friend and invites him to stay with her at her London apartment.
At first, Jack is grateful for Sarah's kindness and tries to find a cure for his condition. However, as time passes, he becomes increasingly isolated and resentful of society. He begins to harbor deep-seated anger towards those who shunned him when he was visible, and he becomes obsessed with the idea of gaining power and control over others through his invisibility.
Jack starts to plan a reign of terror, using his invisibility to commit heinous crimes across the city. Sarah realizes what he is planning and tries to stop him, but Jack is too far gone and is determined to wreak havoc on those who wronged him.
