Fast Getaway is a 1991 action-comedy film directed by Spiro Razatos. The movie revolves around a family of bank robbers consisting of Nelson (Corey Haim), his father Sam (Leo Rossi), and their two friends Tony (Ken Lerner) and Angie (Vanessa Angel). They plan a series of bank heists in southern California, but their final robbery goes awry when Nelson falls in love with a bank teller named Lily (Megan Follows).
Nelson convinces his father to allow him to do one last job before they move to Mexico for good. During the robbery, Nelson and Lily develop a connection, and he decides to turn his back on his life of crime. However, his father and the rest of the crew are not happy with Nelson's decision and plan to take him back by force.
With the help of Lily, who is now his girlfriend, and his estranged mother (played by Cynthia Rothrock), a former CIA agent, Nelson sets out to outsmart his father and the gang. Together, they devise a plan to steal back the stolen money and escape the grasp of the rest of the crew.
The film features several high-speed car chases and intense action sequences, as well as a healthy dose of humor. Fast Getaway was successful enough to spawn a sequel, Fast Getaway II, which was released in 1994.
