Jack Tyson is a former race car driver, who is persuaded to participate in an illegal Mexican to California car race. The race is sponsored by a ruthless gangster, who uses it to launder his illegal activities. The winner of the race gets a cash prize of $1 million. Jack believes that he can use the money to start a new life and leaves his mundane job to pursue his dreams.
During the race, Jack meets a desperate woman named Aurora, who is being pursued by her gangster boyfriend. She pleads with him to take her away from her abusive relationship and also hands him a USB drive containing incriminating evidence against her boyfriend.
As they both hit the road, they realize that they are being followed by a group of dangerous hitmen hired by her boyfriend to retrieve the USB drive and kill them both. With no other option, Jack has to use his driving skills and race against time to reach California and hand over the evidence to the authorities.
