In the third and final installment of the Fantômas series, the notorious criminal mastermind (played by Jean Marais) has returned once again to wreak havoc on Paris. This time, he has come up with a diabolical plan to impose a head tax on the wealthy citizens of the city, threatening to kill anyone who refuses to pay.
Fantômas systematically targets the wealthiest and most prominent members of society, including bankers, industrialists, and politicians. He demands exorbitant sums of money from each of them, using various methods of coercion and manipulation to ensure that they comply.
However, Fantômas' reign of terror is soon challenged by the arrival of Inspector Juve (played by Louis de Funès) and his British counterpart, Superintendent Gibson (played by Edmund Purdom).
