Family Plan

Comedy  N/A

Charlie MacKenzie (Tori Spelling) is a hard-working interior designer who is focused on climbing the corporate ladder. When she interviews for her dream job at a family-oriented firm, she realizes that the company values family above all else. In a moment of panic, Charlie lies and says that she is married with a child.

When she gets the job, Charlie finds that her new boss, Donna (Abigail Breslin's mother, Kim Basinger), is a kind-hearted woman who takes a personal interest in her employees. Charlie is thrilled to have landed the job, but things get complicated when Donna and her family move in next door to Charlie. Donna assumes that Charlie's husband and child live with her, and Charlie is too embarrassed to correct her.

Charlie asks her best friend, Laura (Kari Matchett), if she can borrow her daughter for a few days to keep up the charade. Laura is hesitant but agrees, and Charlie and the little girl spend a few days pretending to be a happy family.

But when Donna invites Charlie and her "family" over for a barbecue, Charlie realizes that she needs to find a "husband-for-hire" to complete the picture. She hires an actor, Buck (Jordan Bridges), to play her husband, and the two of them pretend to be a happy couple in front of Donna and her family.

As Charlie and Buck spend more time together, they start to grow closer. Charlie is drawn to Buck's easygoing charm and good looks, and Buck is impressed by Charlie's talent and ambition. But their relationship is complicated by the fact that Charlie is lying to Donna and everyone else about their relationship.

As the charade continues, Charlie realizes that she might have feelings for Buck that go beyond their pretend relationship. But when Donna starts to suspect that something is off, Charlie must decide whether to come clean or risk losing everything she has worked so hard for.

Family Plan is a charming romantic comedy that explores the importance of family and the power of honesty. With its quirky characters and witty dialogue, the movie is a fun and heartwarming look at the ups and downs of modern relationships.
