Falling is a drama film that was written and directed by Viggo Mortensen. John's father, Willis, is a conservative man from Los Angeles who is searching for a place to retire.

When Willis comes to visit, John is conflicted about how to deal with his father's homophobic and racist views. As John struggles to connect with his father, he also grapples with his own past trauma and his complicated relationship with his father.
