Gabriela Diaz (played by Christina Milian) is a successful executive in San Francisco who finds herself jobless and single after her boyfriend breaks up with her and her company downsizes. Seeking a change of scenery, she enters an online contest to win an inn located in rural New Zealand, and to her surprise, she actually wins.
Upon arriving in New Zealand, Gabriela realizes that the inn is in much worse condition than the pictures showed. She meets the handsome contractor Jake Taylor (played by Adam Demos), who agrees to help her renovate the inn in exchange for her paying off his debt. As they work together to fix up the inn, Gabriela and Jake develop a connection, but Gabriela is hesitant to start a relationship after being hurt by her ex-boyfriend.
Throughout the film, Gabriela faces challenges with the renovations and adjusting to small-town life, but with the support of the friendly locals and Jake, she is determined to make the inn a success. Along the way, she also learns to open herself up to new possibilities and pursues a relationship with Jake.
