Noah is played by actor Jesse Metcalfe, who is best known for his roles in the television series "Desperate Housewives" and "Dallas." In the movie, Noah is a talented political strategist who has been working for the mayor's office in Boston. He is excited to start a new job working for a powerful senator in Washington, D.C., but things quickly start to unravel.
First, Noah's new boss informs him that due to a scandal, he is unable to employ him. Then, Noah discovers that his girlfriend, played by Natalie Lisinska, has been cheating on him with his best friend. Heartbroken and unsure of what to do next, he impulsively hops on a ferry to Martha's Vineyard, a small island town off the coast of Cape Cod.
Once there, Noah meets a variety of colorful characters, including a kind-hearted innkeeper played by Treat Williams, and a charming local named Cara, played by actress Jennifer Finnigan. As he begins to explore the quaint town and enjoy the slower pace of life, he starts to feel like he has found a new home.
But just as Noah is starting to settle in, he receives a phone call that could change everything. His former boss in Boston has offered him an opportunity to work on an important campaign, but it would mean leaving the peaceful island and returning to the high-pressure world of politics.
As Noah grapples with this decision, he must also confront the reality that his ex-girlfriend is also on the island, and that their relationship is far from resolved. Ultimately, the film is a heartwarming story about finding yourself and your true home, even when life doesn't go as planned.
