Dr. Génessier is a renowned and respected surgeon who lives in a large mansion with his daughter Christiane, whom he has kept hidden from the world following her disfigurement in a car accident caused by him. Christiane wears a haunting, expressionless mask to cover her disfigurement.

Dr. Génessier's guilt and obsession with restoring his daughter's beauty drives him to kidnap several young women for their faces, with the help of his devoted assistant Louise. The victims are brought to the mansion's laboratory and rendered unconscious with gas. Dr. Génessier then carefully removes their faces, causing their deaths, and transplanting them onto Christiane.

Despite the high-risk nature of the experiments and the high mortality rate among his victims, Dr. Génessier remains resolute in his pursuit to restore his daughter's beauty. However, Christiane's trauma and guilt over the deaths and suffering of the young women begin to take their toll on her, leading to a confrontation between her father and Louise over their continued actions.

Eyes Without a Face is a tense, atmospheric horror film that explores themes of guilt, obsession, and the consequences of playing god with the human body. The film's haunting imagery, particularly the iconic image of Christiane's mask, lingers long after the credits roll.
