Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is a 2019 American biographical crime thriller film about Ted Bundy, one of America's most notorious serial killers who killed at least 30 young women in the 1970s. The movie is based on the memoir, The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy, written by Bundy's former girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer.
The film begins with Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins, and Ted Bundy, played by Zac Efron, meeting in 1969 at a Seattle bar. They begin dating and Elizabeth falls deeply in love with Ted. However, she begins to get suspicious of Ted's behavior as she learns about his arrests and connection to several murders of young women across different states.
Despite her suspicions, Elizabeth remains in denial and refuses to believe that Ted could be capable of such heinous crimes. She continues to support him, even after he is arrested and charged for kidnapping and murder. As the case against Ted unfolds, Elizabeth's loyalty is put to the test as she struggles to come to terms with the truth.
