Extraordinary Measures (2010) is a biographical drama film, based on a true story and adapted from the book The Cure by Geeta Anand. The film is directed by Tom Vaughan and stars Brendan Fraser, Harrison Ford, and Keri Russell. The movie follows the journey of John Crowley (Fraser), a working-class father of three, whose two youngest children are diagnosed with Pompe disease, a rare genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle weakness and respiratory problems. The diagnosis means that Megan and Patrick are not expected to live beyond their early teens.

In a desperate search for a cure, John and his wife Aileen (Russell) start their own bio-tech company, with the help of eccentric scientist Dr. Robert Stonehill (Ford), who has his own unconventional ideas on how to find a cure. The three of them form an unlikely partnership, working tirelessly to develop a treatment before it's too late to save Megan and Patrick. As the race against time continues, the protagonists face financial, ethical, and personal challenges.

Dr. Stonehill is portrayed as a brilliant but socially awkward scientist who has been ostracized from the medical community due to his controversial methods. John Crowley, on the other hand, is a determined and resourceful father who puts his family's needs above his career aspirations. Together, they push the boundaries of science and medicine to save the lives of two children, defying the odds and inspiring hope along the way.

The movie received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances of Ford and Fraser but criticized the film for simplifying the complex science behind the cure. However, it remains a touching and inspiring story of perseverance, love, and innovation in the face of adversity.
