Joel Reynolds is the owner of a small flavor extract factory who is frustrated with his lackluster personal and professional life. His wife, Suzie, seems more interested in watching reality television than spending time with him, and his employees are completely uninterested in their jobs. Joel's only bright spot is his attractive employee, Cindy, whom he fantasizes about.
Joel confides in his best friend, Dean, about his marital problems. Dean suggests that Joel hire a gigolo to seduce Suzie, which will give him an excuse to have an affair with Cindy. Joel is hesitant to follow through with this plan, but eventually agrees.
Meanwhile, Cindy is revealed to be a sociopathic con artist who is only interested in manipulating Joel for her own gain. She uses her feminine wiles to get Joel to give her a promotion, but her incompetence leads to a workplace accident that seriously injures one of the factory workers.
As the accident investigation unfolds, it becomes clear that Cindy was responsible for the accident and that she has a long history of deceit. Suzie, who once seemed entirely disinterested in her husband, suddenly becomes jealous and possessive when she finds out about Joel's plans to cheat on her. Joel is left with a factory in ruins, no wife, and no prospects for the future.
