Ex Drummer is a Belgian black comedy film directed by Koen Mortier, based on the novel of the same name by Herman Brusselmans. The film follows three handicapped men, Koen, Jan and Ivan, who aspire to start a punk band. They approach well-known writer Dries to be their drummer, who initially declines due to his lack of musical talent but eventually agrees.
However, Dries is not interested in being a part of a band, and is only motivated by his desire to write a book about the experience. He begins manipulating and exploiting the handicapped members of the band, using them as characters in his book and forcing them to engage in various violent and sexual acts.
