Ex Drummer is a Belgian black comedy film directed by Koen Mortier, based on the novel of the same name by Herman Brusselmans. The film follows three handicapped men, Koen, Jan and Ivan, who aspire to start a punk band. They approach well-known writer Dries to be their drummer, who initially declines due to his lack of musical talent but eventually agrees.

However, Dries is not interested in being a part of a band, and is only motivated by his desire to write a book about the experience. He begins manipulating and exploiting the handicapped members of the band, using them as characters in his book and forcing them to engage in various violent and sexual acts.

The band members, who are initially excited about the prospect of playing music with Dries, soon realize that he has no intention of playing the drums, and is instead only interested in using them for his own personal gain.

As the film progresses, we see the band members become increasingly disillusioned with their situation, and the tension between them and Dries builds to a violent climax.

Ex Drummer is a dark and disturbing film that explores themes of power, manipulation, and exploitation. It has been praised for its unflinching portrayal of a world that is often overlooked by mainstream cinema, and for its honest and unvarnished depiction of disability.
