Every Body follows the stories of three intersex individuals - Alex, Jamie, and Taylor - as they navigate their lives, from childhood to adulthood. The film delves into their experiences of being assigned one gender at birth, while their bodies do not conform to binary sex characteristics.
Throughout their childhoods, the three protagonists are subjected to shame and secrecy by their families and medical practitioners. They are also subjected to invasive and unauthorized surgeries, which leave them with stigmatizing scars. Jamie is a successful lawyer, married to her supportive partner, who also comes out as trans. She decides to share her story publicly, even though it may impact her career and pose a risk to her safety.
Taylor, a musician, struggles with depression and substance abuse, as well as the trauma of undergoing surgery without her consent. However, she finds healing by connecting with other intersex individuals and speaking out about the unethical practices that she and many others have experienced.
