European Adventure: The Berlin Surprise

Comedy  United States of America

EuroTrip is a 2004 comedy film directed by Jeff Schaffer and co-written by Alec Berg, David Mandel, and Schaffer. The film stars Scott Mechlowicz as Scott Thomas, a high school student from Ohio who discovers that his German pen pal, Mieke (played by Jessica Boehrs), is actually a beautiful young woman. After a misunderstanding causes Scott to believe that Mieke is a creepy old man, he impulsively decides to travel to Europe with his best friend Cooper (played by Jacob Pitts) to find her.

Along the way, Scott and Cooper meet up with two other friends, Jenny (played by Michelle Trachtenberg) and Jamie (played by Travis Wester), and together they embark on a wild and raunchy journey across Europe. From Amsterdam's red light district to Paris's Moulin Rouge, the group experiences all kinds of misadventures and comedic moments.

Throughout the film, Scott and Mieke's relationship develops, and they eventually meet in person. However, their reunion is not without its challenges, as Scott must overcome several obstacles, including a jealous ex-boyfriend and a misunderstanding involving a soccer hooligan.

EuroTrip received mixed reviews upon its release but has since become a cult classic among fans of raunchy teen comedies. The film's humor is often crude and politically incorrect, leading some critics to criticize it for its offensive content, while others praised it for its gleeful irreverence and willingness to push boundaries.
