Eureka is a 2015 film directed by Shinji Aoyama. The cowboy, played by Koji Yakusho, arrives in the village in search of his daughter, but he quickly becomes entangled in the lives of the native policewoman, played by Aoi Miyazaki, and her niece, played by Mayu Tsuruta. As the policewoman carries out her duties in the snowy landscape, she must confront both external threats and internal conflicts within the community.

Meanwhile, the niece, a basketball coach, is dealing with her own challenges, both on and off the court. She is also grappling with the impending loss of her grandfather, played by Masaru Miyazaki. The three characters' lives intersect in unexpected ways, and they find themselves on a journey that will test their relationships and redefine their sense of purpose.

As the story unfolds, the film also incorporates elements of magical realism, with a mystical bird that transcends time and space, bringing about profound changes in the lives of the characters. The bird's influence extends to the native tribe in the Amazon forest, where it begins to enter the minds and dreams of the community members, blurring the lines between reality and the supernatural.

Eureka weaves together multiple storylines and themes, offering a poignant exploration of family, loss, and the interconnectedness of human experience. The film's ethereal and meditative tone is underscored by its stunning cinematography and evocative sound design, creating a rich and immersive viewing experience.
