Eternal Winter is a historical drama film based on true events that happened during the Soviet Union era. The movie is set in 1944, during World War II when Hungary was occupied by the Soviet army. Istvan (played by Sándor Csányi) is a Hungarian officer who fought against the Soviet army during World War II. After his capture, he is sent to work in a labor camp in Siberia. There, he meets Janka (played by Marina Gera), a fellow Hungarian prisoner who survived the forced relocation of her family to the Soviet Union.
At first, Istvan and Janka are just acquaintances, but over time they develop a close relationship that turns into a romance. However, their love is forbidden and dangerous, as relationships between prisoners in the camp are strictly prohibited. Despite the harsh living conditions, they manage to find moments of happiness together amid their struggles.
As winter sets in, the situation in the labor camp worsens, and the prisoners struggle to survive in the extreme cold.
