The 4 friends, Sarah, Jackson, Alex, and Maya, have been friends since childhood and decide to meet up for a weekend getaway at a remote cabin in the Louisiana bayou. As they catch up and reminisce about old times, they stumble upon a hidden altar in the swamp dedicated to Erzulie, the vengeful mermaid goddess of the waters.
Unbeknownst to them, their presence in her territory has awakened Erzulie, who is furious at their intrusion. She begins to manipulate the elements around them, causing storms and floods that trap the friends in the cabin. As they try to escape, they are confronted by eerie visions and hallucinations that test their trust in each other.
Sarah, a skeptic, refuses to believe in the power of the goddess and tries to rationalize the supernatural occurrences. Jackson, a believer in the supernatural, pleads with Erzulie for mercy. Alex, the joker of the group, uses humor to cope with the situation, while Maya, the peacekeeper, tries to keep the group together.
As tensions rise and secrets are revealed, the friends must confront their past traumas and make amends with each other in order to appease Erzulie and escape her wrath. Will they be able to survive the wrath of the swamp mermaid goddess, or will their friendship be torn apart forever?
