The film follows Ernest as he embarks on a journey to obtain his high school diploma. Determined to prove that he is not just a bumbling fool, Ernest enrolls in classes and sets out to prove himself as a capable student. Along the way, he faces various challenges and obstacles, including bullies and a rival student who tries to sabotage his efforts. Despite these setbacks, Ernest perseveres and ultimately earns his diploma, proving to himself and others that he is capable of achieving great things. The film features plenty of slapstick humor and comedic moments, as well as heartwarming moments of triumph and determination.
