In the movie Eragon, the farm boy, named Eragon, is played by actor Edward Speleers. When he discovers the dragon egg, he is unaware of its significance and assumes it is just a valuable stone. However, when the dragon hatches, Eragon is thrust into a world of magic and adventure.
The dragon, named Saphira, quickly grows into an enormous creature and forms a bond with Eragon. Together, they embark on a journey to overthrow the evil king Galbatorix, played by actor John Malkovich. Galbatorix is obsessed with power and has ruled over the land with an iron fist for far too long.
Eragon and Saphira are joined on their quest by a mentor named Brom, played by actor Jeremy Irons, and a young princess named Arya, played by actress Sienna Guillory. The group faces numerous challenges and battles along the way, and Eragon must learn to harness his newfound magical powers to defeat Galbatorix and bring peace to the land of Alagaesia.
The movie is based on the first book in a series by Christopher Paolini and was directed by Stefen Fangmeier. Though it received mixed reviews from critics, it has a devoted following among fans of the book series.
