The protagonist of the story is Mary Katherine, or MK, a teenage girl who is struggling to connect with her estranged father, Professor Bomba, a scientist who has become obsessed with finding evidence of a miniature world in the forest. When MK visits her father, she is accidentally shrunk down to the size of the forest creatures.
There, she comes across a vast and magical world that exists right under her nose. She learns that the forest is in danger from the evil Boggans, led by their wicked ruler, Mandrake, who seeks to destroy the natural world and conquer the forest.
But the forces of good are not easily defeated, and MK soon teams up with a group of unlikely heroes, including a brave Leafman named Ronin, a rookie Leafman named Nod, and a slug and snail duo named Mub and Grub.
Together, they embark on a perilous journey to save the forest and defeat the Boggans. Along the way, they encounter a host of other unusual and fascinating creatures, from the wise and mystical queen Tara to the swashbuckling warrior Nim Galuu.
With the fate of their world—and ours—hanging in the balance, MK and her newfound friends must use all their skills and bravery to save the day and restore balance to nature.
