The story is set in a dystopian near future where the world is divided into two classes – normal humans and mutants. The latter is ostracized and considered a threat to society by the government. Some mutants, however, band together and form a community where they can live and survive.

But as they work to uncover the mystery, they start to question their own allegiances, and their fight for survival becomes more complicated than they could have ever imagined.
