End of Sentence is a drama-comedy film directed by Elfar Adalsteins and premiered at the 2019 Edinburgh Film Festival. The film stars John Hawkes as Frank Fogle, a man who lost his wife and is left to fulfill her last wish of spreading her ashes in a remote Irish lake, and Logan Lerman as Sean, his estranged son who just got out of prison and only dreams of starting a new life in California.

The film's opening scenes introduce us to a rather detached relationship between Frank and Sean, who never seems to want to connect with his father. Sean is released from prison and immediately goes to Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he meets with his cousin. Frank, in turn, travels to London to pick up his son and start a road trip around Ireland.

However, as they start to explore beautiful Irish landscapes and meet a group of friendly locals, the two begin to find common ground and connect on a deeper level. Along the way, they pick up a young hitchhiker named Jewel, played by Ólafía Hrönn Jónsdóttir, who also has some unresolved issues.

As they travel, secrets from the past surface, revealing a history of emotional pain and trauma. But despite the obstacles, Frank and Sean eventually come to understand each other better and bond over shared memories and new experiences.

End of Sentence is a poignant and heartwarming story about family, forgiveness, and new beginnings. The film's stunning Irish landscapes and talented cast make for a beautiful and moving cinematic experience.
