Ants of the Everglades: A Real Estate Nightmare

Empire of the Ants is a science-fiction horror film released in 1977. The film is directed by Bert I. Gordon and starred Joan Collins, Robert Lansing, and John David Carson. The story revolves around the real estate scam led by Joan Collins and her group, trying to sell phony real estate deals in the Florida everglades.
As the group started their tour, they come across a strange toxic waste dump that had been illegally dumped in the area. As they investigate the site, they are attacked by giant ants that have mutated from the toxic waste. The ants begin to increase in numbers rapidly and attack people in nearby towns.
Joan Collins and her group soon realize that they are trapped in the middle of the giant ants' empire, and they must find a way to escape before the ants devour them. Along with a small group of survivors, they band together to try and stop the ants from spreading and destroying everything in their path.
The movie features extensive use of giant ant models, which were created using forced perspective techniques. The film's special effects and makeup were also created by Bert I. Gordon himself, who is known for his work in other giant monster movies.
