Electric Jesus is a coming-of-age dramedy film set in the summer of 1986 in Alabama. The story follows a teenage girl named Rachel who is the daughter of a strict Southern Baptist preacher. Rachel is a part of her father's youth group where she sings Christian music and learns about the Bible.

One day, Rachel meets a touring Christian hair metal band called 316 and finds herself drawn to their music and their carefree lifestyle. A chance encounter with the band leads to Rachel running away with them on their tour bus, leaving her religious upbringing behind.

As Rachel spends time with the band, she learns more about herself and her beliefs. She discovers that her love for music and her faith can coexist and begins to question the strict beliefs instilled in her by her father. Along the way, Rachel and the band encounter various challenges and obstacles that test their faith and relationships.

The film features a soundtrack of original songs inspired by Christian hair metal bands of the 1980s, as well as a cast that includes Judd Nelson and Brian Baumgartner. Electric Jesus is a heartwarming and fun exploration of faith, music, and growing up.
