when the chemical spill occurs, the spiders quickly begin to grow in size and aggression, attacking and killing anyone in their path. The townspeople soon band together to try and fight off the infestation, using homemade flamethrowers and other weapons to combat the giant arachnids.
As the spiders continue to grow in number and size, the group realizes that they must find a way to stop them at their source. With the help of Chris's knowledge of the mines and the chemicals involved, they discover that the spiders are breeding deep underground and decide to launch a final attack to destroy the spider nest.
In the end, the group is successful in destroying the spider nest and saving the town from complete annihilation. However, not everyone makes it out alive, and the experience leaves a lasting impact on the survivors as they begin to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of the attack.
